Break, 21/5- 9/6
As mentioned initially university-exams would lead to breaks... and now is the start of one of those. I'll update the blog again once I'm off my study-break.

Day 6 11/5
Day 6 was spent playing with eyes. The Youki's are multiplying and a girl waiting for one wanted an eye comparison. I found that the my custom 10mm eyes fitted surprisingly well and that I might want to steal the pink souldoll eyes from PP in order for both the sisters to have a similar eyesize.
Day 7 12/5
Day 7 was spent sewing. I used my basic bodice block to make a pattern for hooded black silk dress with green-metallic wedges. I'm currently without a sewing machine so everything is done by hand. Thus far I've gotten about 20% done.
Day 8-11 13/5-16/5
I've kept working on my dress and taken snapshots of Amaya with my new phone... progress has been slow but hopefully I'll get further tomorrow.Thursday, 10 May 2012
Even though I haven't been posting everyday I've started my 28 day project.
Just in case anyone is confused by my dates: in Sweden we write day/month, if I don't misremember Americans write month/day, so all dates will follow the Swedish pattern.
This was a day of pattern-making. I took Amaya's measurements in accordance with different schools of drafting and started drawing up patterns in autoCAD.
This has been immensely fun. I've missed CAD (took a small course in it in upper secondary) and being able to say that a line should be fractions of a millimetre is just wonderful.
Another pattern-drafting day. I had begun the bodice block on Monday. This day I altered the bodice block and drew up a sleeve block.
This was a "crafting" day for me and my IRL doll-friend (yes I'm lucky enough to have one of those :) ). I mostly dealt with figuring out gauge for teeny tiny dolly knitting (0.7mm needles and 2/48nm yarn), this might not be very "for Amaya" but since I might knit her a pair of stay-ups in this super fine gauge I'm going to count it. I also brought her to my friend and thusly I took her out and played with her which definitely counts.
This was a work day (I work extra when I find the time normally I'm a student) and while I love my job I came home super tired. Part of the tiredness I guess is because of the immense amounts of birch-pollen flowing in the air right now... I've got a constant headache from them despite my meds.
As anyone could guess the above paragraph is a kind of excuse for me not quite following my 28 day program. I didn't take her out and I didn't physically work on the patterns. I did however mentally note down what changes are to be done to the slopers before I test sew them. So I guess that'll sort of get to count.
Today is another pattern-testing day, what a surprise right? Well the plan is none the less to finish up the bodice block and sleeve block today and hopefully get them good enough so that I could share them on DoA... there's so many helpful people over there and I sort of want to contribute to the community.

Life got in the way and the blog was abandoned, but I figured it was time to resurrect it now.
Yesterday I packed away all my dolls but one, well left them naked and covered in my dolly cabinet none the less. So why did I do this?
Well, I don't do enough with my dolls. They are a creative outlet but I don't give them enough time for the creativity to truly show through. If I have multiple dolls out I will switch between them, never finishing anything. This is why I have a new dolly plan.
Each doll is going to get 4 weeks, in other words 28 days. During these 28 days I must do something with the doll each and every day even if it's just snapping a picture. My hope is that this will lead to more finished dolls.
The first victim is Amaya, she is my favourite girl and yet she has the least clothes... Now her timeslot isn't going to be spread out over a month. I have exams coming up and unfortunately I'm going to have to study so I think her 4 weeks are going to have to take place over 6 weeks but that's ok.
So let the challenge begin!
